Modified - "The Circus Table was created by thinking about what a product does, not what it is. If you ask someone to design a side table they might draw four legs with a flat top in a range of styles. When you think about what a side-table does it holds possessions like TV remotes, family photos, keys, wallets and phones - so why only have one surface for those uses?"

The sapwood is normally whitish in colour, whereas the heartwood is a light golden-yellow or pale brown to near-black. These give the wood the zebra stripe pattern from which it gets its name. The grain is typically interlocked or wavy, with a medium to coarse texture and a high lustre. The interlocked grain, which is alternatley hard and soft, can produce an attractive ribbon figure.
